Study Skills
Study Skills Workshop
Grades 6–7 & High School Learners
This interactive Study Skills Workshop focuses on how learners learn, rather than what they learn. It is designed for learners who feel overwhelmed, disorganised, anxious about assessments or unsure how to study effectively, and aims to help them develop the skills needed to learn with greater confidence, independence and efficiency.
Through engaging activities and practical tools, learners are guided to understand their own learning processes and to apply strategies that support academic success across subjects.
What Learners Will Learn
The Study Skills Workshop supports learners to:
Develop metacognitive awareness by understanding how the brain works
Set clear, realistic academic goals
Improve time management, planning, and study routines
Learn effective study methods and techniques for comprehension and retention
Prepare for tests and exams while managing assessment-related anxiety
Create a focused, organised and supportive learning environment
Each learner receives a resource booklet on the day, containing workshop content, practical tools, and activities to continue applying these skills at home and in the classroom.
